ABOUT

We are solution-focused and have a flair for lateral thinking. We look beyond the everyday and developing solutions for clients that contribute to environmental quality and community wellbeing while meeting the highest standards and client expectations. We work on a diverse range of projects; residential, commercial, industrial, rural, community and heritage.

We provide advice on strategy to clients at the inception of projects. This avoids delay, costs and unnecessary process. We keep processes simple. Our focus is to effectively assist out clients through planning processes to give them the best chance of success.

We keep a sharp focus on risk management, consentability, minimising delays, and attaining pragmatic decisions and sustainable outcomes by driving the planning process and getting the job done.

HOW WE OPERATE

We constantly consider innovative ways to achieve positive development outcomes. These range from innovation around timing and delivery, to using alternative methods such as transferable rights or special housing areas.  We have pioneered new ways of thinking using both of these examples to achieve positive outcomes for the environment and economic benefits for our clients.  For example, we pioneered the use of large scale ecological restoration of wetlands in exchange for the creation of residential housing where there is significant community benefit.

We are not ones to adopt a “she’ll be right” attitude and we go to great efforts to understand our client’s vision and aspirations for projects. We guide our clients towards options and design solutions that are best practice.

Our support for plan changes, both private and Council initiated, has assisted with providing the necessary land to create healthy, diverse and vibrant communities.

We regularly provide feedback and advice to local government on how to ‘fix’ City and District plans which are not meeting objectives and delivering good outcomes for the community.

We have represented the development community wider afield in District Plan review processes in Taupo, Western Bay of Plenty, Thames Coromandel, Hamilton, Waikato District, Whakatane and Rotorua as well as the Auckland Unitary Plan.
